The Modern Minimalist
At a glance
Construction Time: Approximately 5 months
The Brief:
This renovation covered the entire flat, including a spacious walk-in wardrobe and dedicated kids’ play and bedrooms. The result is a clean, minimalist home designed to be fully furnished with the client’s existing furniture.

About The Remodel
This project required a full gut-out renovation that reworked the entire flat, updating the layout and finishes to better suit a modern family lifestyle. The project included everything from a generous walk-in wardrobe to playful, functional spaces for the kids.
While the family brought much of their existing furniture into the home, we supported them with some basic styling, selecting key pieces like the dining table, built-in cabinets, and hardwired elements such as lighting. The result is a calm, minimalist space that feels complete yet personal, ready to grow with the family.

Living Room & Kitchen
The living room and kitchen share an open layout with soft off-white finishes, giving the family plenty of flexibility to style the space as they like.
The kitchen was renovated and designed with everyday function in mind, using materials that are easy to clean and maintain.
In the living area, we carved out a dedicated zone for the kids to read, draw, and do homework, blending practical needs with a calm, family-friendly atmosphere.

Walk-In Wardrobe
Just off the primary bedroom sits a large walk-in wardrobe, complete with floor-to-ceiling storage, a must in Hong Kong homes where even large flats have to make the most of the space given.
Blackout curtains provide added privacy, while an arched doorway leads to a dedicated dressing area with a mirror and additional storage, making the space feel both functional and thoughtfully tucked away.

“Family homes are always in flux as kids grow and needs change. For this remodeling project, it was important to design with that in mind, to create spaces that feel settled now but can easily adapt over time.”

Kid's Room
Two rooms were dedicated to the kids—one for rest and one for play. The bedroom was designed with a warmer feel, featuring wood flooring to create a cozy and calming space for sleep.
In contrast, the playroom was finished with tiled flooring for easy cleaning, along with plenty of standing storage to help keep toys and activities neatly organised.
Both spaces were designed to suit their purpose while leaving room to evolve as the kids grow.
